I am a huge animal lover! Growing up, I live on what most people would call a hobby farm. For me, it was just normal. We had so many animals throughout the years. I would sometimes say my mom has a problem. Of course, we had the usual farm animals – horses, pigs, cows, goats, dogs and cats. We also had more exotic animals – emus, cavis, pheasants, peacocks, fox and even a skunk. That is just a small example of the many animals we had.
As much as I would love to have maybe a goat and a million dogs, I will stick with four dogs, four cats and two rats. Yes, rats. They make very good pets, even for small children. They’re known to be like dogs and are very social animals.
Let me start from the beginning. Before Jessie and I met, he already had two dogs – Marley and Maya. I have no idea what they are, just muts. He also had three cats – Psycho, Oreo and Raven. They are outside most of the time, since they have a hard time using the litter box. But on super cold days and nights, we bring them inside. Not to mention, one of them is pregnant. She stays inside most of the time so I can make sure her kittens are well socialized and ready for new homes when they are old enough.

When we started dating and decided to move in together, I already had a cat, Padmae, so she is the fourth cat. She stays inside all the time. She is a beautiful cat and she knows it! She is a diva and makes sure everyone who meets her knows it.

Shortly after moving in together, we decided to get a puppy. I searched for a few days, wasn’t super picky on what I wanted, but I did know I wanted a pitbull. So I found Doug and his litter mates. Out of the puppies, Jessie and I agreed to get Doug. He was adorable! He still is, but he is also very dopey! He is a pitbull spaniel mix. We drove two hours to get him and two hours to bring him home. He is definitely my dog!

After about a month with Doug, I’m not sure what came over the two of us, but we decided to get another puppy! Little Cindy! She is the cutest and the naughtiest! She is a pitbull. She is very smart, but she likes to use her smarts for naughty things. Cindy is a month younger than Doug, so of course they want to play ALL the time!

Over the last weekend, we were sitting at home and an event came across my timeline on Facebook – The Grand Rapids Reptile and Exotic Pet Show. Instead of sitting at home like we do most weekends, we made a day of the event. Before we went, I already made sure to let Jessie know, if they had any baby rats there, I was getting one! Well, instead of coming home with one, we came home with two. Originally thinking one was a boy and the other was a girl, I named them Fred and Wilma, then I changed their names to Bam Bam and Pebbles. The littler, darker one which we thought was the female, is a lot smaller than the other, she is a lit younger. So up until yesterday, I didn’t realize they were both, thankfully, boys. But, now I have to change their names again.
Stay tuned for more reviews coming soon! Hopefully I can get some pet reviews coming, too! Thanks for reading and check me out on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram!
